Welcome back parents and students! Bienvenidos y Hola! I am very excited to be part of the learning process here at the Spencer House Montessori School.
This will be my 15th year teaching Spanish and I am still as happy about it as when I first entered the classroom. I am originally from New York State and migrated here in 1994. I've taught all levels including preschool.
Here are my ideas for the first semester: Greeting words, numbers, shapes, colors, classroom objects, animals (zoo and farm), body parts, foods, Spanish cultures, seasons, months, and days of the week.
I will be teaching using the following methods: social interactive games, song, video, puppets, and show and tell. My language teaching methodology is simple and has remained consistent throughout the years. I use a "building block" method...starting with a topic and expanding from there, consistently building from the original idea. This allows for much reinforcement and review. For successful language learning both of those "R's" are essential.
